"Anita Saxena used personal experiences to connect with the students and explained how she uses them in her writing. Her presentation on how she became an author was perfect for our 4th-8th graders. She did a great job of explaining her writing process and how she navigates the complicated world of publishing. She knows how to engage students and answered their questions perfectly. We enjoyed having Ms. Saxena at Bruno Montessori!"

I've always enjoyed teaching children and adults. In addition to being a figure skating coach for over two decades, I am a former National Science Foundation Fellow. As a fellow, I taught fun science experiments at the Birmingham City Schools and the McWane Center. I was also an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and taught how to write a young adult or middle-grade novel. I led the Pelham Writing Workshop where I volunteered my time to teach children and adults how to approach writing a book.

I love speaking about writing, figure skating, building self-confidence, and goal setting.
